The Disney Wilderness Lodge Resort has just finished refurbishing its Silver Creek Springs Swimming Pool. The development started in the fourth quarter of 2014 and has finally been completed. This popular pool attraction now has a water-slide that will certainly entertain your kids and make afternoon pool parties much more fun.
If your kids don’t like to swim or don’t know how, the resort has a brand new splash zone where buckets of water dump onto your head. As for parents who have to watch their children at the pool, they can get a drink at the pool bar and still keep an eye on their kids.
Now if you are looking for a real water adventure that everyone can enjoy, then rent a watercraft at the Teton Boat and Bike Rental shop and take your family out for a ride on Bay Lake. The “captains” of the boat must be at least 18-years-old, but younger kids can still go out with them.
There are plenty of dining choices at the Wilderness Lodge. The Whispering Canyon Café is a popular choice which features an unlimited buffet with breakfast dishes and barbecue cuisines that have an Old West style theme to them. Whispering Canyon is a fun café that is more than just a place to eat delicious food. The waiters will actually put on a show while they serve you. For example, if you order a barbecued cheeseburger and ask the waiter for some ketchup, the waiter may very well bring you over 20 bottles of ketchup as a joke. But don’t think all of the pranks will happen to you because you get to see them happen to other guests as well. However if you are the type of person who doesn’t want the embarrassment and would rather just eat in peace, the café now has a “flip card” which gives people the option to participate or opt out. If you want to be part of the show then you flip the card up on its green side. If you don’t want to be part of the show then you flip the card on its red side, which indicates you are opting out.
The Wilderness Lodge Resort was just featured in a list of the Top 25 Best Hotels for Families. This list was voted upon in the 2015 Traveler’s Choice Awards held by Trip Advisor. Not only that, but it was just one of five Disney hotel resorts to be included on this list. Between the adventurous activities of the resort and its delicious food, your trip to the Wilderness Lodge will be one to remember forever.
